Once you have attended one of our programs, participated in online offerings, and/or explored our classes, you may choose to create a stronger connection to Nalandabodhi by becoming a member. As a Nalandabodhi member, you will not only support the ongoing activities of Nalandabodhi but also join a community with whom to share your journey along the path. The three paths of study that we offer are detailed below.
We encourage members to engage in a daily meditation practice with guidance from a Practice Instructor, an experienced practitioner and personal mentor who can suggest classes and readings to strengthen your meditation practice. Opportunities for group practice and instruction are also available weekly. For more information on the Nalandabodhi Path of Meditation, click here.
Our study path provides a comprehensive introduction to Buddhism to deepen your understanding of the teachings. Members are encouraged to engage in the curriculum developed and taught by our teacher, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. For more information on the Nalandabodhi Path of Study, click here.
The classes and events of Nalandabodhi are run by volunteers. Classes are taught by our senior students, and our events are planned by community members. As a member, there are many opportunities to engage and contribute to the community as well as further your individual practice. If you wish to support Nalandabodhi New York and participate as a full member, the standard dues are $40 per month and $32 per month for seniors (over 62). As the amount that is affordable for everyone varies significantly, you are welcome to join at a contribution level that is affordable for you. Please contact our membership coordinators for more information or to set up an income-appropriate monthly offering.
Membership dues support the study and practice curricula, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche’s teachings, dharma activities of the local, national and international sanghas, care and support for our teachers, and also contribute towards the Mind Without Borders prison dharma program.
Membership benefits include discounts on classes and programs, participation in members-only teachings and events, and the assignment of a personal Practice Instructor to help guide your path. Also, Nalandabodhi members who are in good standing with their local sanghas and who are also formal students of Rinpoche, are invited to attend our annual sangha retreat in Seattle, led by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and senior Nalandabodhi teachers.
If you wish to become a member or for more information about membership, please contact our membership coordinators.
Formal membership is not required to participate in our community activities. If you are interested in developing a meditation practice or attending an event, we welcome your participation. Please contact our membership coordinators for more information.
