The Altruistic Heart: Training in Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Contentment

4 Thursday Evenings
7:00 – 9:00 pm
Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25

These inspirational teachings by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche on the Altruistic Heart are simultaneously profound, creative, funny, and practical. Sometimes it may seem to us that our relationships with family, work colleagues, and friends are not workable. It may seem to us that our habitual pattern of negative self-judgment is inescapable. Rinpoche teaches us that with love and compassion everything is workable. The four immeasurables – loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and contentment – are meditative trainings that transform our inherent qualities from dormant seeds to the experience of true happiness.

Join co-facilitators Rosemary Bakker and Mario Figueroa as we meditate, listen to teachings, and engage in lively discussions on how to bring these teachings into our everyday world.

Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche is a widely celebrated Buddhist teacher and the author of Emotional RescueRebel Buddha, and other books. A lover of music, art and urban culture, Rinpoche is a poet, photographer, accomplished calligrapher and visual artist, as well as a prolific author. Rinpoche is founder and president of Nalandabodhi, an international network of Buddhist centers. He is known for his sharp intellect, humor, and easygoing teaching style.
