Tara Drupchen at NBNY

Saturday, September 21

Nalandabodhi New York is pleased to invite you to the fourth annual Nalandabodhi Tara Drupchen. This is a very special practice intensive that serves as a long-life practice for Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and his family, for all of the members of the worldwide Nalandabodhi community, for our friends, families, loved ones, and for all sentient beings. It focuses on awakening the fearless and compassionate energy that is our mind’s true nature, as symbolized by Tara.

The practice of Drupchen is said to bring great benefit to its participants and their extended communities, as well as generating merit, purification, and blessings. In Vajrayana Buddhism, Tara is the bodhisattva who symbolizes loving-kindness and compassion, and is said to have promised to dispel the fears of all beings. Therefore, we supplicate Tara to free us of our fears, to clear away obstacles and illnesses, and to generate blessings.

Please join us as we gather simultaneously with other Tara practice events taking place at Nalandabodhi centers and study groups around the world, creating a global mandala of practice. We will join the main event being held at Nalanda West in Seattle, via webcast, for the first Practice Session from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and for the Guided Meditation by Acharya Lhakpa at 2:30pm to 3:30pm. We will end by reciting the Nalandabodhi Tara Sadhana. All sessions are open to everyone. Please join us for all or part of the day.
